Girl Scouting builds
girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make
the world a better place.
Founded by Juliette Gordon Low in 1912, Girl Scouts is
dedicated to helping girls develop qualities that will
serve them all their lives, like leadership, strong
values, social conscience, and conviction about their
own potential and self-worth. More than 50 million
American women have enjoyed Girl Scouting during their
lifetime - and that number continues to grow as Girl
Scouts continues to inspire, challenge, and empower
girls everywhere.
"The original purpose of Girl Scouting, as summed up by
Mrs. Low, has remained the same through the years,
although the program, originated for changing youth in a
changing world, is constantly being studied and
altered." |
